What we do

Five services. Take the lot, or just the one you're short on.

Most clients need a system built. Some already have one and need it audited, documented properly, or explained to their team. We do all four, on either standard.

  • 100+ISO certifications
  • 50+R2 certifications
  • 5Core services
  • 2015Doing this since

The four

What each one actually involves

These aren't packages with names. They're the five distinct jobs that come up on a certification project and after it, and you can buy any of them separately.

Either standard

All four work on both sides of the house

The service is the same shape whether you're certifying to R2v3 or to ISO. What changes is which requirements we're auditing against and what evidence the auditor will want to see.

Not sure what you need

Most people book the free call and describe the situation. We'll tell you which of the four applies — sometimes it's none of them yet.

Most engagements fall between $4,000 and $12,000

That's our consulting fee, quoted as a fixed price against a written scope before anything starts. We publish the range because you deserve to know whether we're in your budget before you spend thirty minutes on a call.

What moves the number

  • How much system already exists

The biggest single factor. A company with documented procedures and a working audit habit needs a fraction of the work of one starting from a blank page.

  • Number of sites

A bigger multiplier than headcount. One location is one scope, one set of records, one walkthrough. Three locations is close to three of each.

  • Employee count

More people means more roles to define, more competence records, more training and more interviews an auditor can run.

  • Which standard, and how many

R2v3 with several appendices carries more requirements than ISO 9001 alone. But adding ISO 14001 and 45001 to a 9001 build costs far less than doing them separately, because the shared clauses get written once.

  • Process complexity and risk

A manufacturer with regulated waste streams needs more than a service business with repeatable office processes, at identical headcount.

  • How much you want to keep in-house

Some clients want us to write everything. Others have capable people and want review, gap analysis and audit support only. That's a real difference in price.

What our fee does not include

Your certification body's audit fees are separate and paid directly to them. So is the SERI facility licence if you're pursuing R2. Ask your registrar for the full multi-year picture — initial audit, annual surveillance and recertification , not just the first visit.

Why there are two bills

Certification bodies operate under an accreditation requirement to protect their impartiality, which means they cannot consult for an organization they audit. The separation isn't a commercial arrangement, it's structural, and it's what makes your certificate worth something.

How we quote

Free readiness call, then a written scope with a fixed fee. Nothing starts before you've seen both, and we don't bill hourly against open-ended work. If your situation falls outside the range in either direction, we'll say so on the call rather than after.

How engagements run

Fixed scope, fixed fee, written first

Every engagement starts with a written plan and a fixed fee. Nothing begins before you've seen both, and we don't bill by the hour for open-ended work.

  • You get a scope document

What's included, what isn't, who owns each task and when it's due.

  • You keep the system

Everything we build belongs to you, in formats your team can edit.

  • We stay independent of registrars

No preferred registrar, so no reason to steer you toward a particular one.

  • We'll say when you don't need us

If you can handle it in-house, that's the advice you'll get on the call.

Questions

Common questions

Can we buy just one of these?

Yes. Plenty of clients bring us in only for internal audits, or only to write documentation for a system they've built themselves. The four services are separate for exactly that reason.

Do you work on R2v3 and ISO both?

Yes. R2v3 and RIOS for electronics recyclers and ITAD, and ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 50001 for manufacturers and service organizations. Some clients need both — R2v3 Appendix C and Appendix F require a certified quality management system underneath.

How much does it cost?

Most engagements fall between $4,000 and $12,000 in consulting fees, quoted as a fixed price against a written scope before work starts. What moves the number is how much system already exists, how many sites, headcount, which standard and how much you want to keep in-house. Your certification body's audit fees are separate and paid directly to them.

Can you be our certification body too?

No. A consultant who builds or audits your system internally cannot also certify it. That separation is fundamental. We stay independent of all certification bodies.

Do you work outside Michigan?

Yes, across the United States. Most work runs remotely, with on-site visits for audits, training and pre-audit walkthroughs where being in the building matters.
