A one-page process map instead of a clause-by-clause manual

The problem

Every system this machinery builder ships is engineered to order: electrical design, control software, commissioning on the customer's floor, and purchasing threaded through the group ERP. When ISO 9001:2015 replaced clause-by-clause procedures with a genuine process approach, the North American site needed documentation that honored the European parent's global template while describing how projects actually moved through engineering on this side of the Atlantic.

What we did

• Mapped the end-to-end value stream from proposal through job launch, project management, engineering, and commissioning into a numbered process architecture
• Built four core process families (Applications, Project Management, Engineering General, and Electrical Engineering), each with its own processes, work instructions, and forms
• Embedded design controls directly in the engineering processes: hardware review, software review, controls lineup, and commissioning checklists
• Adapted the parent group's bilingual templates and flowchart standards so the North American documentation slotted cleanly into the global system
• Delivered a single-page process map giving auditors and new engineers one view of how the business works
